Argentina prepares for new government

BUENOS AIRES, Nov 20 (NNN-Prensa Latina) — Twenty-one days before their inauguration ceremony, Argentine President-elect Alberto Fernandez and Vice President-elect Cristina Fernandez are designing strategies for the future.

There is much to do and the newly elected president has not stopped for a second. He traveled to Mexico, where he met with representatives of several sectors, but above all, with a large group of political and social figures to implement the plan for an Argentina without hunger a day after the swearing-in ceremony on Dec 10.

After two weeks in Cuba, where she traveled to be with her daughter Florencia Kirchner, who is receiving medical treatment in Havana, Cristina Fernandez met with Alberto on Monday for about three hours to review the agenda they will implement in this new cycle.

‘We are friends, I had not seen her for two weeks and we spoke about everything, on how the country is doing,’ Alberto Fernandez told reporters after noting that his cabinet of ministers is practically complete.

While the new president and vice president are working hard during this transition stage, there will also be many changes in Congress, where 24 new legislators will be sworn in on Nov 28 in the Upper House, which will be chaired by Cristina Fernandez as established by Argentinean law.

There will be a lot of work after Dec 10, and Alberto Fernandez has announced that he will call extraordinary sessions to discuss the Constitution and the 2020 budget. — NNN-PRENSA LATINA
