Foreign direct investment growing 7.8 percent in Mexico

MEXICO CITY, Nov 20 (NNN-Prensa Latina) — Foreign direct investment in Mexico grew 7.8 percent in the first nine months of this year, the Ministry of Economy reported, for a total of 26,055.6 billion dollars were raised.

According to preliminary figures in the first nine months of the year, foreign investment rose by that amount compared to the same period last year.

In a press release it is detailed that the available figures indicate that from January to September 2019, 26,055.6 billion dollars were collected, net result of the inflow by company or trust, and 7,302.5 billion in outflows.

The increase of 7.8 percent was concentrated in the areas of reinvestment and new investments, although the subsequent adjustment of the figures could modify this result, it is clarified in the document, which explains that the income in those first three quarters came from more than six thousand foreign companies or trust contracts.

By sector, manufacturing was the most privileged with 44.6 percent; financial and insurance services (13.9 percent); trade (11.3 percent); and generation of electricity, water and gas (5.8 percent). — NNN-PRENSA LATINA
