SANAA, Nov 20 (NNN-SABA) – Yemen’s Houthi rebels, announced late on Tuesday, the release of South Korean ships they seized in the southern Red Sea.
“The seized South Korean ships were set free, along with their crew members,” Hussein al-Ezzay, a senior Houthi official, was quoted as saying.
On Monday, the Saudi-led coalition accused the Houthi militia of hijacking a vessel in the south of the Red Sea.
“The incident was reported on Sunday evening, in which three vessels, towing a drilling rig owned by a South Korean company were targeted,” Turki Al Maliki, spokesman of the coalition, was quoted by the Saudi Press Agency, as saying, in a statement.
The coalition intervened in Yemen’s civil war in Mar, 2015, to support Yemeni President, Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi, after the Houthis forced him into exile.– NNN-SABA
