AMMAN, Nov 19 (NNN-PETRA) – Jordan on Monday said, Israeli settlements in Palestine are illegal, and represent a breach of international law and legitimacy resolutions.
According to a statement by the Foreign Ministry, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ayman Safadi, said, Jordan’s stance in this regard was firm.
The minister stressed Jordan’s condemnation of Israeli settlements as a unilateral measure that kills the two-state solution and undermines the prospects of regional peace.
Safadi asserted that, nothing can change the illegitimacy of the settlements, warning against the consequences posed, by a shift in U.S. policy on settlements and its impact on peace efforts.
On Monday, the United States said, Israeli settlements in the West Bank are “no longer illegal.”– NNN-PETRA
