KUWAIT CITY, Nov 3 (NNN-KUNA) – Kuwait launched, on Saturday, a beach cleanup campaign, to enhance people’s environmental awareness.
The campaign, themed “Operation Turtle,” was organised by the Kuwait Environment Public Authority (KEPA) and Kuwait Environment Protection Society (KEPS), in cooperation with the Japanese Embassy in Kuwait, in Shuwaikh beach park.
Janan Behzad, KEPS secretary-general, said, KEPS has been a major participant in the campaign since 2000, as it is a community work that aims at promoting environmental awareness, by drawing attention to the importance of coasts and their environments, marine organisms and habitats.
More than 400 participants took part in Saturday’s cleanup campaign.– NNN-KUNA
