Iraqi Authorities Reduce Curfew Hours In Baghdad As Protests Continue

BAGHDAD, Nov 3 (NNN-NINA) – The Iraqi authorities reduced the curfew in Baghdad to four hours from six, as anti-government demonstrations continued.

A statement by Baghdad Operations Command (BOC), responsible for the security of Baghdad province, decided to set the new curfew from 2 a.m. to 6 a.m., while the previous one started from midnight.

The curfew reduction is intended to give more time for the protesters to return home, the statement said.

The current massive demonstrations in Baghdad and other Iraqi cities, lasted for nine days, demanding comprehensive reform, accountability for corrupt officials, improvement of public services and job opportunities.– NNN-NINA
