WASHINGTON, Nov 2 (NNN-XINHUA) – A plane crashed Friday afternoon, at an air show in Stuart, Florida, killing the pilot, authorities said.
The male pilot was the only person aboard and no one on the ground was injured, Martin County Sheriff, William Snyder, told reporters.
The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB), tweeted, they are investigating the crash, which occurred on the first of three days, for the air show.
The Stuart Air Show tweeted that, Friday’s activities were cancelled and the air show was working to reschedule the activities for today (Saturday).
According to a statement from the air show, the Stuart airport “is closed to air traffic” and they “are waiting for the NTSB and County to finish their investigations.”
The crashed plane, OV-1 Mohawk, is a two-seat, twin-engine reconnaissance aircraft, built for the U.S. Army.– NNN-XINHUA
