Cuba, Pakistan sign agreement on visa exemption

ISLAMABAD (Pakistan), Nov 1 (NNN-Prensa Latina) — Representatives of Cuba and Pakistan signed an agreement in Islamabad on the exemption from visa for diplomatic, official and service passport holders.

The document was signed at the Pakistani Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in the presence of Cuban Council of Ministers vice president Roberto Morales, who is on an official visit to Pakistan, and Pakistani Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi.

The Federal Secretary of the Ministry of Interior of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Major Azam Suleman Khan, and Cuban ambassador Gabriel Tiel Capote, were also present.

The agreement concerning the abolition of visa requirement for diplomatic, official and service passport holders between the governments of Cuba and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan will contribute to facilitate and promote travel among their citizens holding such documents and strengthen relations and cooperation between the two countries, a diplomatic source from the Caribbean nation said.

Morales is concluding his activities in Pakistan, the last destination of his tour of three Asian countries, which included his attendance to the enthronement ceremony of the new Emperor of Japan and a visit to the Republic of Singapore. — NNN-PRENSA LATINA
