TEHRAN, Oct 30 (NNN-TASNIM) – Iranian Central Bank Governor, Abdolnaser Hemmati, on Tuesday, said that, the Iranian currency, rial, has regained value against the U.S. dollars.
Despite the U.S. “maximum pressure” campaign against the Islamic republic, the Iranian rial has risen in value against the U.S. dollar, over the past five months, Hemmati said.
Drawing on the data collected by the bank, he hailed what he called, the “downward” trend of U.S. dollar rate, against the rial.
In the black market on Tuesday, one U.S. dollar was traded for 111,500 rials.
Last week, Hemmati said that, he had been able to strengthen the Iranian rial by 40 percent, since the onset of new U.S. sanctions, in the summer of 2018, that led to the currency’s free fall.– NNN-TASNIM
