Preventive Diplomacy Helps Avoid Disputes: Kuwaiti FM

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 28 (NNN-XINHUA) – Preventive diplomacy helps stop the eruption of disputes and conflicts, and enhance dialogue and mediation amongst countries, Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, Kuwait’s deputy prime minister and foreign minister, said on Sunday.

He made the remarks at a ceremony, held by the United Nations (UN) Secretary-General’s Representative and Resident Coordinator to Kuwait, Tareq Al-Sheikh, in Hawalli Governorate.

Since attaining membership of the UN in 1963, Kuwait has been keen on partaking effectively in the UN’s activities and events, the minister said.

Throughout its current non-permanent membership of the UN Security Council, and in support of other members, Kuwait has highlighted those affected by the ongoing humanitarian disasters all over the world, he said.– NNN-XINHUA
