JERUSALEM, Oct 24 (NNN-WAFA) – The number of Arab-Israeli students in Israeli higher education institutions increased by 58.6 percent in the past decade, Israel’s Central Bureau of Statistics reported.
Some 28,259 Arab students studied at Israeli universities and colleges in 2009, while in the last academic year (2018-2019), the number reached 44,827, according to the data.
Accordingly, there was a significant increase in the percentage of Arab-Israeli students at Israeli higher education system, from 11.6 percent in 2009, to 16.8 percent in the last academic year.
In addition, the percentage of women among Arab-Israeli students reached a significantly high of 68.9 percent, which means that, for every Arab male student, there are about two Arab female students in Israeli higher education.– NNN-WAFA
