KUWAIT, Oct 17 (NNN-XINHUA) – Kuwaiti Minister of Social Affairs, Saad Al-Kharaz, said on Wednesday that, Kuwait is committed to supporting Arab joint social development work.
His remarks were made during the 73rd session of the Council of Arab Social Affairs Ministers, which kicked off on Wednesday (yesterday) in Kuwait City.
Kuwait is keen to improve the lives of Arab families in general and Palestinian families in particular, the minister noted.
During the session, the Arab ministers discussed a number of important social issues in the Arab world, particularly the rights of the disabled, protecting the rights of children, empowering women and orphans, as well as sustainable development.
Egyptian Social Solidarity Minister, Ghada Wali, head of the executive office of the council, hailed the achievements made by the council in the past years.
Meanwhile, Arab League Assistant Secretary General, Haifa Abu Ghazaleh, said, issues related to people with disabilities, family, and childhood are major issues that require recommendations for implementation.
Support for social projects is one of the main topics on the agenda of the session, she added.– NNN-XINHUA
