Israel Asks Russia To Pardon Israeli Tourist Jailed For “Drug Trafficking”

JERUSALEM, Oct 16 (NNN-MA’AN) – Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, asked Russian President, Vladimir Putin, to pardon an Israeli woman, imprisoned for drugs found in her luggage, during transit through a Moscow airport.

Israeli Prime Minister’s Office said, it delivered to Moscow a request, on behalf of Netanyahu and Israeli President, Reuven Rivlin, to pardon Naama Issachar, who was sentenced last week to 7.5 years in prison, for “drug trafficking.”

The request asks Putin “to pardon Naama Issachar and repatriate her back to Israel,” the statement read.

Issachar, 26, was arrested in Apr, at Moscow’s international airport, after 9.6 grams of marijuana were found in her suitcase, as she transited through Russia from India to Israel.– NNN-MA’AN
