MUSCAT, Oct 14 (NNN-ONA) – Oman and Syria signed a memorandum of understanding, on preserving Syrian monuments and antiquities in the Sultanate.
The Omani Ministry of Heritage and Culture, said that, the agreement was signed by Omani Director General of the National Museum, Jamal al-Musawi, and Syrian Director General of Antiquities and Museums at the Syrian Ministry of Culture, Mahmoud Hammoud.
The deal provides for the temporary lending of Syrian monuments and antiquities to Oman, for the purpose of preservation, and the establishment of a temporary exhibition at the museum, it said.
It was signed following a meeting between Haitham Al Said, Omani minister of heritage and culture and chairman of the Board of Trustees of the National Museum, and visiting Syrian Minister of Culture, Mohammed Al-Ahmad.– NNN-ONA
