Malaysia’s Natural Rubber Production Falls 4.1 Pct In Aug

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 11 (NNN-XINHUA) – Malaysia’s natural rubber production dropped 4.1 percent to 57,599 tonnes in Aug, from 60,088 tonnes in previous month, official data showed Friday (today).

Malaysian Statistics Department said, the natural rubber production also decreased 8.4 percent on a yearly basis.

Meanwhile, Malaysia’s natural rubber exports slumped 16.9 percent month-on-month to 55,879 tonnes in Aug.

China remains as the main natural rubber export destination with share of 52.6 percent of total exports for the month. This was followed by Germany, the United States, Iran and Finland, where accounted for 11, 3.9, 3.7 and 3.2 percent, respectively.

Malaysia’s natural rubber stocks increased 0.4 percent month-on-month to 182,690 tonnes, as total domestic consumption decreased 0.3 percent to 41,673 tonnes.

As for average prices, Latex Concentrate fell 7.8 percent month-on-month to 439.19 sen per kilogram in Aug, while Standard Malaysian Rubber 20 dropped 6.6 percent to 542.48 sen.– NNN-XINHUA
