SRINAGAR, Indian-controlled Kashmir, Oct 6 (NNN-PTI) — At least 14 people, including a policeman and a journalist, were wounded Saturday, in a grenade blast in restive Indian-controlled Kashmir, police said.
The grenade attack was carried out in Anantnag town, about 50 km south of Srinagar city, the summer capital of Indian-controlled Kashmir.
“Today (yesterday), at around 10:45 a.m. (local time), a grenade blast took place outside the deputy commissioner’s office here, in which 14 people were wounded,” a police official posted in town, said. “The wounded include a traffic policeman and a local journalist.”
Reports said, the grenade was aimed at a police party, deployed outside the deputy commissioner’s office in the town. However, it missed the intended target and exploded on the road.
Police officials blame militants for carrying out the attack.– NNN-PTI
