JERUSALEM, Sept 25 (NNN-XINHUA) – Israeli Foreign Minister, Yisrael Katz, said, he met in New York with a foreign minister of an undisclosed Arab country with which Israel has no official ties.
Katz tweeted that the meeting took place on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly.
He said, the meeting was “fascinating” and focused on regional issues, including “the Iranian threat.”
The two sides decided to explore possible cooperation. “We agreed on a process to push forward civil cooperation between the two countries,” said Katz, adding, it is “a new and challenging reality.”
The meeting was the latest sign of the warming ties between Israel and Arab states.
These ties are a key part of Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu’s foreign policy, according to which Israel can normalise its ties with its Arab neighbours without inking a peace deal with the Palestinians.– NNN-XINHUA
