OTJIWARONGO, Namibia, Sept 20 (NNN-NAMPA) – A 22-year-old man was arrested with a live pangolin at a service station in Okahandja during a police operation on Thursday.
Spokesperson of the Namibian Police Force in the Otjozondjupa Region, Inspector Maureen Mbeha told Nampa the suspect faces charges of possession of and dealing in, protected and controlled wildlife.
“The pangolin, with an estimated street value of N.dollars 50 000, was confiscated by the police,” she said.
The suspect is expected to appear in the Okahandja Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
