RAMALLAH, Palestine, Sept 19 (NNN-WAFA) – The Palestinian Health Ministry, on Wednesday, declared that, a Palestinian woman was shot dead, at Qalandia military checkpoint, between Ramallah and Jerusalem, for allegedly attempting to stab an Israeli soldier.
The ministry said, the 50-year-old woman, whose name was not revealed, died of bleeding wounds.
The Israeli army said, the woman was shot after being discovered with a knife.
Palestinian sources said that, the army were seen deploying quickly at the checkpoint, after a woman took a wrong lane at the checkpoint and shot her in the leg.
No witnesses confirmed that she received medical aid immediately after being shot.
No other injuries were reported.
Qalandia military checkpoint is considered a border crossing, that determines the access of Palestinians from the West Bank into East Jerusalem.– NNN-WAFA
