Arab Conference Recommends Use Of Smart Technology To Prevent Child Abuse

MUSCAT, Oman, Sept 18 (NNN-ONA) – Participants at the 6th Arab Conference on Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect, recommended the use of smart technology and applications to prevent child abuse.

Participants in the conference, held at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre, underlined the need to establish a national database of children, to help decision makers in developing policies, strategies and plans for taking care of children.

The conference’s recommendations called for carrying out scientific studies and researches that assess the current situation, in the field of child protection to reduce cases of abuse.

The conference, held from Sept 15-17, under the slogan: “Towards a Better Future for Children,” was organised by the Omani Ministry of Social Development, in collaboration with Sultan Qaboos University, the UN Children’ Fund and several other institutions.– NNN-ONA
