NUR-SULTAN, Kazakhstan, Sept 16 (NNN-AGENCIES) – A bus driver was killed and nine of his passengers were injured, after a train-bus collision, in the Almaty region in southern Kazakhstan, the regional mayor’s office confirmed on Sunday.
The accident took place at around 19:20 local time (1320 GMT), on the Yekaterinburg-Almaty highway.
The train, at full speed, crashed into the bus, with 67 people on board, at a crossing at Shamalgan station.
The bus driver drove onto the railway track during a traffic jam.
The bus still remained on the railway track, when the train approached. An investigation is underway.– NNN-AGENCIES
