JERUSALEM, Sept 10 (NNN-MA’AN) – Israel’s army said on Monday, that one of its drones fell in southern Lebanon.
A military spokeswoman, said that, a small surveillance drone crashed over southern Lebanon before dawn, “during a routine activity in the area.”
“There was no concern that information could be downloaded from the drone,” she added.
Hezbollah, in southern Lebanon announced that, its forces had intercepted the drone. However, the Israeli army denied the statement, saying that, the cause of the malfunction was not immediately clear.
The incident came amid heightened tensions in the region.
Also on Monday, Israel allegedly carried out overnight airstrikes in eastern Syria, targeting Iranian-backed forces and killing 18 fighters, according to local media.
Earlier in Sept, Israel and Hezbollah had a brief and intensive fire exchange, in the wake of Israeli drone attack in the Shiite quarter of Beirut.– NNN-MA’AN
