AMMAN, Jordan, Sept 3 (NNN-PETRA) – The Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union (AIPU), on Monday, slammed Israeli procedures that seek to expand the construction of illegal settlements on Palestinian territories.
President of the AIPU and Jordan’s Lower House Speaker, Atef Tarawneh, said that, Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu’s remarks, on imposing “Jewish sovereignty” on all colonies in the West Bank, is likely to lead to more violence, according to a statement by the union.
He added that, Netanyahu’s statements, undermine peace prospects and represent a clear violation to the international legitimacy resolutions.
He urged all countries to shoulder their moral responsibilities, in combating injustice and oppression, and ending the suffering of the Palestinian people.
Netanyahu, on Sunday, renewed his pledge, to annex all Jewish settlements, in the occupied West Bank, ahead of the Sept 17 Israel election.– NNN-PETRA
