BEIRUT, Lebanon, Aug 31 (NNN-NNA) – Lebanese Prime Minister, Saad Hariri, told head of the United Nations, on Friday, that, Israel bears full responsibility for last Sunday’s attack in Beirut’s southern suburbs.
“This unacceptable act threatens the stability and peace that has prevailed on the international border for 13 years,” Hariri said, in a telephone call to UN Secretary General, Antonio Guterres.
On Aug 25, an Israeli drone was brought down over the southern suburbs of Lebanon’s capital, Beirut, while a second one exploded in the air, causing severe damage to a media centre belonging to the Hezbollah.
This is the first clear Israeli attack against Lebanon since 2006.
Hariri warned that any escalations by Israel will drag the region into “an unaccounted for conflict.”
Hariri also called for the international community to put pressure on Israel, to comply with resolution 1701.– NNN-NNA
