US announces US$5 million reward for information about indentification or location of Daesh leaders

NEW YORK, Aug 22 (NNN-BERNAMA) — Under its Rewards for Justice Programme, the United States Department today (Wednesday) announced that it will be offering a reward of up to US$5 million for information leading to the identification or location of key leaders of the terror group Daesh.  

The name of the individuals listed by the Department of State as key Daesh leaders are Amir Muhammad Sa’id Abdal-Rahman al-Mawla, Sami Jasim Muhammad al-Jaburi, and Mu’taz Numan ‘Abd Nayif Najm al-Jaburi.

The Department of State pointed out in a statement that more information about these reward offers could be found on its Rewards for Justice website (www.rewardsforjustice.net). 

“We encourage anyone with information on these individuals to contact the Rewards for Justice office via the website, email (INFO@rewardsforjustice.net), phone (1-800-877-3927 in North America), or mail (Rewards for Justice, Washington, DC, 20520-0303, USA). Individuals may also contact the Regional Security Officer at the nearest US embassy or consulate.  All information will be kept strictly confidential,” the Department of State said in the statement.

The Department of State described its Rewards for Justice Programme as an “effective law enforcement tool” and is administered by the US Department of State’s Diplomatic Security Service.  Since its inception in 1984, the Department of State said, this programme had paid in excess of $150 million to more than 100 people who provided actionable information that helped bring terrorists to justice or prevented acts of international terrorism worldwide.  

The Department of State also reminded that Wednesday (August 21) was an International Day of Remembrance and Tribute to the Victims of Terrorism. This was the second time that the annually held International Day of Remembrance and Tribute to the Victims of Terrorism was held.
