VIENTIANE, Laos, Aug 18 (NNN-KPL) – The “Peace Train-2019” China-Laos humanitarian and medical joint rescue exercise, saw the presence and application of Chinese army’s new battle field tent hospital system, army ambulance helicopters and other health equipment, which marks a higher level the drill has reached.
On the Lao army’s training ground, in the northern suburbs of the capital, Vientiane, the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA)’s new battle field tent hospital system, was set up on Saturday, with 13 tents, equipped with functional modules of command, inspection, ICU, surgery, medical technology support and epidemic prevention, among others, like a fully functional hospital.
According to Yu Ming, a Chinese technical support team member, this system is mainly applied for field medical support and disaster emergency rescue, when water, electricity, air-conditioning and communication are out of reach.
Xu Xiaoli, deputy head of the joint exercise command, said, the new medical equipment design, accommodates actual combat practice, fully considers the needs of the rescue and treatment, the requirements of staffing and equipment standard, and meets diversified tasks, such as fast treatment for the wounded, impaired by infectious diseases and chemical accidents.
After visiting the tent hospital, Director of the General Logistics Department of the Lao People’s Armed Forces, Major General Vongkham Phommakone, said the Peace Train medical team, set up the tent hospital in such a short time with high efficiency, and the Lao side has learnt plenty of health and logistic organisation and command experiences, as well as medical knowledge.
Vongkham said, this year’s tent hospital is equipped with a lot of advanced equipment, and he hoped the Lao exercise participants can learn from the experts, to jointly fight against disasters, so as to benefit the Lao army and people.– NNN-KPL
