DHAKA, Bangladesh, Aug 15 (NNN-BSS) – A major fire gutted a plastic factory, in the old part of Bangladesh capital, Dhaka, late Wednesday night.
No casualty has been reported yet.
The fire broke out in a single-storey tin-shed house, in old Dhaka’s Lalbagh Posta area, at round 11:00 p.m. local time, on Wednesday night.
“Sixteen units of fire tenders rushed to the spot and doused the blaze at around 1:00 a.m.,” said Babul Miah, officer at the Department of Fire Service and Civil Defence.
Miah said, the cause of the fire and the extent of damage to the factory could not be ascertained immediately.
“The workers of the factory were on leave, on occasion of the largest Muslim religious festival, Eid al-Adha, celebrated here on Aug 12,” he said.– NNN-BSS
