BEIRUT, Lebanon, Aug 14 (NNN-NNA) – The popular Cedar Forest in Bsharri, in northern Lebanon, witnessed the arrival of a record number of 4,000 visitors over Eid al-Adha.
“This is a record number that the forest’s infrastructure cannot bear,” the Committee of Cedar Forest Friends said. “The number of arrivals has surpassed 22,000 since the beginning of July.”
The committee said, it will have to take measures to reduce the number of visitors.
Lebanon has witnessed this summer, an increase in the number of tourists, with Bsharri hotels registering occupancy rates of 90 to 100 percent.
