LA PAZ, Bolivia, Aug 13 (NNN-PRENSA LATINA) – At least 11 people were killed, when a cargo truck collided head on with a minibus, in south-west Bolivia on Monday, a regional traffic official said.
The accident occurred along a tract of the Panamerican Highway, between the departments of Oruro and Potosi, said Victor Hugo Lizarazu, the director of transit in Oruro.
According to the police report, the cargo truck, carrying minerals, invaded the opposite lane, crashing into the minibus.
Both drivers were hospitalised, under police custody, while authorities were investigating the causes of the accident.
The collision comes exactly a week after a passenger bus, carrying doctors and nurses on a volunteer mission, plunged 200 metres into a ravine, north of the city of La Paz, killing 15 people and injuring more than 20 others.– NNN-PRENSA LATINA
