BAGHDAD, Iraq, Aug 13 (NNN-NINA) – Iraqi Foreign Minister, Mohammed al-Hakim, held a phone call with his Egyptian counterpart, Sameh Shoukry, and discussed means to boost bilateral ties and find solutions for the regional crises.
Al-Hakim and Shoukry exchanged views over a number of issues, including the crises in the Middle East, and asserted the need to provide effective political solutions, and to undertake initiatives aimed at achieving security and stability in this sensitive region of the world.
The phone call came, amid rising tension between the United States and Iran in the Middle East region.
On Aug 4, Shoukry and Jordanian Foreign Minister, Ayman Safadi, and their Iraqi counterpart, al-Hakim, held a tripartite meeting in Baghdad, where the three ministers discussed means to strengthen Arab relations, and efforts to reach political solutions to crises in the region, and to support Iraq in the reconstruction of areas liberated from the extremist Daesh militants.– NNN-NINA
