10 Militants Give Up Fighting In Afghanistan’s Western Ghor Province

KABUL, Afghanistan, Aug 10 (NNN-AGENCIES) – Ten armed militants, affiliated with the Taliban outfit, have given up fighting and joined the government-backed peace process, in the western Ghor province, provincial government spokesman, Abdul Hai Khatibi said, today (Saturday).

“Ten Taliban fighters, under Mawlawi Rafiq, have given up fighting, laid down their arms and avail the peace process. They returned to their homes and resumed normal life in the community,” Khatibi said.

The former militants, under their commander, Mawlawi Rafiq, were active in anti-government activities in Du-layna district, over the past couple of years, Khatibi added.– NNN-AGENCIES
