BAGHDAD, Iraq, Aug 7 (NNN-NINA) – Two Iraqi security members were killed and five others wounded, on Tuesday, in two incidents in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad, and the eastern Diyala province, security sources said.
A roadside bomb detonated, on an Iraqi army’s patrol, in the afternoon, while patrolling a highway in al-Radwaniyah area, in south-western Baghdad, Ihsan Mohammed from Baghdad police said.
The explosion destroyed a military vehicle, killing an army officer and wounding four soldiers aboard, Mohammed said.
In Iraq’s eastern province of Diyala, a paramilitary Hashd Shaabi member was killed and another wounded, when a roadside bomb, apparently planted by the Daesh militants, detonated near their vehicle, near the town of Khanaqin, some 160 km north-east of Baghdad, Alaa al-Saadi from Diyala’s police said.
According to al-Saadi, security forces launched a search campaign in the area, looking for the attackers.– NNN-NINA
