BAGHDAD, Iraq, July 31 (NNN-NINA) – Germany’s new ambassador to Iraq, Ole Diehl, on Tuesday, presented his credentials to Iraqi Foreign Minister, Mohammed al-Hakim.
According to a statement by the foreign ministry, al-Hakim received Diehl’s credentials and discussed with him, means to promote bilateral relations, in a way that achieves the aspirations of the two peoples.
During the meeting, al-Hakim lauded Germany’s supporting stances for Iraq, especially its assistance in the war against the Daesh group, the statement said.
He called on German companies to invest in Iraq, especially in the projects of infrastructure reconstruction.
Germany is part of a U.S.-led international coalition, tasked with helping the Iraqi security forces in the fight against the extremist Daesh militants.
The international coalition has carried out thousands of air strikes against Daesh positions in Iraq and Syria, and provided military equipment and training to Iraqi forces.– NNN-NINA
