KUWAIT, July 31 (NNN-KUNA) – Kuwait and Iraq are ready to strengthen cooperation in the field of security, the Kuwaiti interior ministry said, on Tuesday.
The remarks were made, during a meeting between Kuwaiti Interior Minister, Sheikh Khalid al-Jarrah al-Sabah, and his Iraqi counterpart, Yasin al-Yaseri, according to a statement by the ministry.
Al-Sabah highlighted the deep-rooted fraternal ties binding the two neighbours, and keenness of the leaderships to overcome all difficulties hindering their development, the statement noted.
They also reviewed security conditions in the region, and means of activating coordination to monitor land and sea borders, and combating terrorism and organised crime.
Al-Yaseri expressed satisfaction with the discussion, saying, Iraq and Kuwait share a common ground over a host of issues.– NNN-KUNA
