SANAA, Yemen, July 31 (NNN-SABA) – Warplanes from the Saudi-led coalition launched a series of air strikes on a military camp held by Houthi rebels, in the Yemeni capital, Sanaa, late on Monday, residents and Houthi-run media said.

The attack targeted al-Sawad military camp, south-east of Sanaa.

Windows of several houses in the residential neighbourhoods surrounding the camp were partly smashed, during the air strikes, according to residents.

There was no immediate comment from the coalition, and there were no Houthi reports of casualties.

The air strikes came hours after the Houthis claimed responsibility for drone attacks on the King Khaled Air Base, in the south-west of Saudi Arabia.

Houthis have recently stepped up drone attacks on Saudi Arabia, but most of the drones were intercepted and destroyed by the kingdom’s air forces.– NNN-SABA
