Palestinian Official Slams Israel For “Destroying” All Signed Agreements

RAMALLAH, Palestine, July 29 (NNN-WAFA) – A senior Palestinian official, on Sunday, accused Israel of “effectively destroying and annulling” all the agreements it signed with Palestine Liberation Organisation (PLO).

The PLO Executive Committee Secretary General, Saeb Erekat, told two U.S. delegations representing churches and universities that, Israel is trying to use new references to consolidate its occupation.

He said, in a press statement after the two separate meetings held in Ramallah that, Israel is attempting to replace the two-state solution with its occupation.

Erekat introduced in detail to the two delegations, the situation in the Palestinian territories “related to the ongoing crimes of the occupation, mainly the demolition of homes.”

The crimes are “backed by the U.S. administration,” he added.

He stressed that, the PLO is committed to the international resolutions and laws, and sticks to the Arab Peace Initiative and the vision of Palestinian President, Mahmoud Abbas, to find a new international mechanism to sponsor the peace process.

Last week, the Israeli authorities demolished 12 Palestinian constructions, including 27 apartments, in the neighbourhood of Sur Baher, south-east Jerusalem, which sparked a large outrage among the Palestinians.

In response, Abbas announced that, the Palestinians intended not to abide by the peace agreements that were signed with Israel.– NNN-WAFA
