PHNOM PENH, Cambodia, July 28 (NNN-AKP) – Cambodian Foreign Minister, Prak Sokhonn, will attend the 52nd Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Foreign Ministers Meeting (AMM), and related meetings, to be held next week in Bangkok, Thailand, according to a foreign ministry statement on Saturday.
Under the theme: “Advancing Partnership for Sustainability” the 52nd AMM and related meetings will focus on enhancing cooperation, to further advancing the ASEAN community-building process and strengthening the ASEAN-centred regional architecture, as well as, broadening partnerships with ASEAN’s dialogue partners and external parties, the statement said.
“On the margins of the 52nd AMM, Prak Sokhonn will witness, with other ASEAN foreign ministers, the signing ceremony of the Instruments of Accession to the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation in Southeast Asia (TAC), by the Republic of Peru and the Republic of South Africa,” the statement said.
“He will also attend the launching ceremonies of the ASEAN-China Young Leaders Scholarship and the ASEAN-Australia Counter-Trafficking (ASEAN-ACT) Initiative,” it added.
Founded in 1967, ASEAN groups Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.– NNN-AKP
