YANGON, Myanmar, July 27 (NNN-MNA) – A combined armed group of Arakan Army (AA) and Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army (ARSA), attacked a border police outpost in Rakhine state, leaving three dead from the AA and two injured from the police side, according to a release of the Office of the Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Services, Saturday (today).
The police station in Nyaungchaung village, Buthidaung township was fired with light and heavy weapons, by the combined group from the south-east and south-west directions.
The police returned fire, forcing the attackers to retreat to the south-west and east.
Along with the three bodies of the AA, dressed in sports wears, some assault rifles, grenade launchers, bullets and improvised explosives devices were also seized.
The police said, the attacked station remains under control.– NNN-MNA
