KUALA LUMPUR, July 26 (NNN-BERNAMA) — The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of the Malaysian Parliament will host the Commonwealth Association of Public Accounts Committees (CAPAC) Seminar here from Aug 1 to 3.
PAC chairman Datuk Dr Noraini Ahmad said today the seminar, organised by the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association United Kingdom (CPA-UK), is the first CAPAC event hosted by Malaysia and involves countries of the Commonwealth from the Asian region.
The seminar will be attended by over 20 PAC chairmen, secretaries and members from eight Commonwealth countries, namely Bangladesh, Hong Kong, India, Maldives, Pakistan, Singapore, Sri Lanka and Malaysia.
Dewan Rakyat Speaker Datuk Mohamad Ariff Md Yusof will open the seminar, to be held at Parliament House. The chairman of the UK PAC, Meg Hillier, is expected to attend the seminar.
Noraini said the participants will be exposed to best practices that can enable the Malaysian PAC to discharge its duties more effectively.
