ANKARA, Turkey, July 23 (NNN-ANADOLU) – At least six people were injured, after a rocket fired from within Syria, landed in Turkey’s south-eastern Sanliurfa province, on Monday night, the provincial governor’s office said.
The wounded were taken to a hospital nearby and their conditions are stable, the governor’s office said in a statement.
The U.S.-backed Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG) militia, controls much of northern and eastern Syria.
The YPG group is regarded by Ankara as the Syrian affiliate of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK), listed as a terrorist organisation by Turkey.
However, the United States has supported the YPG, to combat the Daesh group in Syria.– NNN-ANADOLU
