CARACAS, July 22 (NNN-Prensa Latina) — President Nicolas Maduro expressed gratitude for the support for Venezuela from all 120 member nations of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM), at the Ministerial Meeting of that organisation here.
On his Twitter account, the head of State praised the bloc’s work as the protagonist of an ‘intensive battle for the fair causes of humanity.’
‘I am grateful for the strong support from all members and delegations from the 120 NAM countries for the presidency that Venezuela has held for three years, an acute battle for the fair causes of humanity. The Venezuelan people welcome all their solidarity!’ Maduro wrote.
In his speech on Saturday at the meeting of the NAM Coordinating Bureau, the president highlighted the struggles waged by the member countries in order to become free States.
Likewise, Maduro calls to consolidate a geopolitical scheme of cooperation, exchange and sisterhood to defend the peoples’ sovereignty and self-determination.
“We have managed to fight for fair causes, with clear ideas, with courage and rebellious power for two centuries against old colonialism and all forms of exploitation,” Maduro noted to stress that the NAM materialised after a historic process of decolonisation and liberation. — NNN-Prensa Latina
