Cuba reiterates respect for Venezuela’s self-determination

CARACAS, July 22 (NNN-Prensa Latina) — Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez reiterated the respect from the Cuban people and government for Venezuela”s right to self-determination, in light of the siege imposed by the United tates and its allies.

While US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo is visiting countries in the region to incite interference in the Bolivarian territory, members of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) ratified the right to sovereignty in Caracas, the head of Cuban diplomacy wrote on Twitter.

‘During a #NAM meeting, we ratify #Cuba’s deep respect for the #Venezuelan government and the will of Venezuelans. Meanwhile, the US secretary of State visited the region, vociferating lies and saying what Venezuela should do. Stop imperialist interference in #NuestraAmerica,’ Rodriguez wrote.

The statements made by the Cuban foreign minister respond to those made by Pompeo in Ecuador on Saturday, where he stressed the need for presidential elections in Venezuela to solve the alleged humanitarian crisis.

In response to the political and economic harassment by Washington, the NAM members set up a group to study the coercive measures by the US government against sovereign peoples, in order to seek methods to counter the aggressions. — NNN-PRENSA LATINA
