Syrian Democratic Forces Agents Caught Smuggling Daesh Women In NE Syria

DAMASCUS, Syria, July 21 (NNN-SANA) – Corrupt members of the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), were caught smuggling Daesh women from a camp in north-eastern Syria, a war monitor reported Saturday.

Two SDF members were caught at a checkpoint, in Manbij, in northern Aleppo province, while attempting to smuggle out five women who are members of the Daesh, said the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.

The UK-based watchdog group said, the SDF rounded up the two corrupt members, who were smuggling the women in exchange for 10,000 U.S. dollars each.

The women were smuggled out of the al-Hol camp in the north-eastern province of Hasakah, said the Observatory, adding that, it’s not the first time such smuggling attempts take place in that camp.

It’s worth noting that the al-Hol camp is largely inhabited by family members and fighters of the Daesh group, particularly after their defeats in eastern Syria.

The SDF, which is backed by the United States, has made strides in the battles against the Daesh late last year and earlier this year.

The SDF is also controlling much of al-Hasakah, and the al-Hol camp is also controlled by this Kurdish-led group.– NNN-SANA
