JALALABAD, Afghanistan, July 16 (NNN-AGENCIES) – One woman and four children were killed, after the rooftop of a house collapsed, in Afghanistan’s eastern Nangarhar province overnight, provincial government spokesman said today (Tuesday).
“One woman was also wounded in the incident, which occurred at midnight in Barpchir village of Pachir Wa Agam district, south of provincial capital, Jalalabad city,” spokesman, Attaullah Khogyani, said.
The injured woman was shifted to the district hospital, he said.
Residents in Afghan villages and cities live in traditional muddy and old houses that easily collapse, in a natural disaster, raining or snowing.
Ageing of the house was blamed for the incident, the official said.– NNN-AGENCIES
