NEW DELHI, India, July 16 (NNN-PTI) – As many as 11 persons, including three women, three children and five men, were killed, in a road mishap in India’s western state of Gujarat, on Monday, local media reports, said.
According to the reports, the mishap occurred in Gujarat’s Kutch district, when a speeding truck hit an overcrowded auto rickshaw and a motor cycle, while trying to overtake them on a narrow road.
The victims were daily-wage labourers from the central state of Madhya Pradesh, who come here for their livelihood. They were returning to Bhuj district, after a temple visit.
Confirming the number of deaths, a local cop was quoted as saying that, the driver of the truck fled after the accident.
The police have seized the truck.– NNN-PTI
