Palestinian, Russian Presidents Agree On Prioritising Political Solution To Reach  Peace

RAMALLAH, Palestine, July 13 (NNN-WAFA) – Palestinian President, Mahmoud Abbas, and his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, agreed in a telephone conversation on Friday that, political solution is a priority for reaching a just and everlasting peace in the region.

The two leaders deeply reviewed all issues, including the U.S.-proposed peace plan, known as Deal of the Century, the U.S.-led economic workshop held in Bahrain, and the two-state solution.

The report said, Abbas explained to Putin, the tense between the Palestinians and the Israelis and Israel’s daily violations of the Palestinians, including digging a tunnel in Jerusalem, to change the status of Arab Jerusalem.

Abbas also briefed Putin on the recent Israeli cuts of the tax revenue dues, that Israel collects on behalf of the Palestinians, at commercial crossings it controls.

“Abbas also said that, he is committed to making internal reconciliation based on the Cairo Agreement, signed with Hamas in Oct, 2017,” said the report.

Putin affirmed the necessity of commitment to international legitimacy, in a bid to find a peaceful settlement to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, adding that, he will continue to work with the Americans and Israelis, to reinforce the two-state solution.– NNN-WAFA
