KUWAIT, July 13 (NNN-KUNA) – The Kuwaiti Ministry of Interior, announced the arrest of Muslim Brotherhood members, who had been convicted of terrorism.
These members had been handed down verdicts by the Egyptian judiciary, the ministry said, indicating that some of the detainees had been sentenced to 15-year jail term in their home country, and had escaped from the Egyptian authorities to Kuwait.
The ministry’s personnel located the whereabouts of the fugitives and arrested them, the statement said, adding that, during interrogations, they admitted to have carried out terrorist operations in Egypt.
Investigations are proceeding to determine their accomplices, the statement said, warning that, it would crack down ruthlessly against saboteurs.
Egypt has been facing a wave of terror activities that killed hundreds of policemen, soldiers and civilians, since the ouster of former Islamist President, Mohamed Morsi, in July 2013, and the later massive security crackdown on his loyalists, mostly from the currently outlawed Muslim Brotherhood group.– NNN-KUNA
