QUITO, July 10 (NNN-Prensa Latina) — Flight 32 of the Return to Homeland Plan, implemented by Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, has repatriated 90 people from Ecuador.
Young people, older adults, minors and babies are part of the group, which met with authorities from the Caracas embassy in Quito to clarify departure details and receive a snack prior to boarding two buses to Mariscal Sucre International Airport, from where a Conviasa airline plane transports them to the Maiquetia terminal.
It has been an effort, followed by planning, despite the difficulties and problems facing Venezuela, subject to a blockade, to an infernal financial blockade by the United States,’ Pedro Sassone, head of the Venezuelan Diplomatic Mission, told Prensa Latina.
In this sense, he warned that the state has managed to overcome all the obstacles imposed with will and the decision not to stop the program, whose social and humanitarian character makes it unique.
The Return to Homeland Plan, he recalled, is being developed in Latin America, not only in Ecuador, but also in Peru, Chile, Colombia, Brazil, Argentina and the Dominican Republic.
With this day’s departure, more than 2,800 Venezuelan migrants are returning from Ecuador.
Another 90 Venezuelans, who will arrive early in Quito from Guayaquil to join flight number 33, are scheduled to leave on Wednesday.
According to Sassone, the embassy, through its consulates in Ecuador, has a list of some 1,500 more people interested in returning, since some did not find the economic solvency they were looking for, while others were victims of mistreatment, labor abuse and xenophobia, among other irregularities. — NNN-PRENSA LATINA
