International Schools are Urged to Open Their Doors for Palm Oil Awareness Programmes Conducted by MPOC and to Engage in Dialogue with MPI

KUALA LUMPUR, July 4 (Bernama) — In light of the issue regarding an international primary school putting up a play, critical of the Malaysian palm oil industry, I would like to clarify that my criticism was not an attempt to stifle freedom of expression in that primary school but to express disappointment and regret on the lack of their understanding of the Malaysian palm oil industry, particularly about its on-going conservation and sustainability efforts.

In the past, the Malaysian Palm Oil Council (MPOC) has experienced difficulties with some international schools in the Klang Valley rejecting its offer to conduct palm oil awareness sessions to the students in the school.
