Terrorist blows himself up in Tunis: official

TUNIS, July 3 (NNN-Xinhua) — A Tunisian terrorist on Tuesday evening blew himself up after being surrounded by security services in Al intilaka district in Tunis, said the Tunisian Interior Ministry.

“A terrorist element called Aymen ben Al Habib ben Al Khouthayri Al Smiri, wanted by the ministry of the interior, blew himself up in Al-Intilaqa district after being surrounded by the security units,” Interior Ministry spokesman Sofiene Zaag said in a statement broadcasted in Mosaique FM.

The ministry had published a picture of this “dangerous” terrorist element and called on citizens to contact the security or military units in case of obtaining any information, said Zaag.

Two separate suicide bombing attacks hit the center of Tunis on Thursday, leaving a policeman killed and eight others injured.

The Daesh extremist group claimed responsibility for the two terrorist attacks. — NNN-XINHUA
